| Bio: | General Information Name: Gunnar Golmen Codename: Loki Age: 16 Powers Description of Powers: Illusion projection/control; he can psionically cause other people to see, hear, touch, smell, and/or taste things that do not actually exist. He can also cause people to sense things in ways that they would not naturally; for example, he can make himself look and sound like a different person, or look and feel like a wall, or even seem invisible. These illusions are incredibly convincing due to the mind control element - even those who are aware that what they're perceiving isn't real frequently have a hard time acting on the awareness (powerful telepaths aside). However, since these illusions are psychic rather than light projections, Gunnar is incapable of fooling a camera or any other nonliving thing. Wears obvious glasses despite not needing them at all (they're not even prescription!) because they theoretically make him look 'smarter' and also because guys who wear glasses tend not to get hit in the face so much. Personality: Quirks/Habits: occasionally talks to himself out loud (in Norwgian) Likes: languages, talking, listening, reading, writing, drawing Dislikes: having his accent mocked, people seeing through him (not just his illusions) Phobias/Fears: large people who are also threatening; the real world (in many ways) Extrovert/Introvert: introvert, but doesn't seem like it Background Brief Personal History: From the outside, Gunnar's life is perfect. His extended family is not only large but fairly close-knit, they're wealthy, and since his father is a diplomat, Gunnar has lived in more countries than some people can identify on a map. Of course, wealth equals expectations and a diplomatic family equals a need to be on best behavior and well-controlled at all times. Gunnar might have resented the expectations and seemingly-required inward-turning of stress, his habits were already formed by the time he was old enough to realize that there were other ways. And when he did realize it... he found he genuinely preferred to keep himself to himself, and share a made-up face to the rest of it. While he has been a troublemaker and the fact has not been lost on most of the schools he's attended, it's hard to catch him in active malfeasance. He's the instigator, the planner, or the ringleader that no one will own up to a lot of times. Other times, he's a small-scale Iago to whoever happens to be standing next to him. He doesn't have a point, he just likes to watch the chaos. When his powers manifested, it became harder to catch him. Privately he was deeply amused, since his life was all about keeping his own secrets and telling useful/convenient/necessary lies, but private was how all of it stayed. Since neither his family nor any schools so far knew what to do with him or even how to talk to him, the letter inviting Gunnar to a new private boarding school in the United States came as a welcome option.
